EDW-100

The EDW-100 is a serial-Ethernet converter designed to allow RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 serial devices to communicate over Ethernet TCP / IP networks. DIP switches are used for RS-422/485 configuration and for Ethernet port settings; the password-protected web interface is used for all other settings. Diagnostic information can be accessed via a Telnet session or take advantage of the information offered by the LEDs. The EDW-100 is designed for use in industrial applications. The wide power supply range, galvanic isolation, transient protection and fault protection guarantee communication in the most hostile environments. Only industrial-grade components are used which give the EDW-100 a 1,000,000 hour MTBF and a long service life. A wide range of operating temperatures between -25 and + 70 ° C (-13 to + 158 ° F) can be achieved thanks to the absence of moving parts. The EDW-100 has been tested by both Westermo and external test houses to meet many EMC, insulation, vibration and shock standards, all at the highest levels suitable for industrial environments and railway applications. The EDW-100 supports UDP connections, TCP clients and TCP servers between multiple units or a virtual PC COM port. It also features a number of special modes, including Single Client mode, dual TCP connection, DSR connection, TCP RST shutdown, RTS control, allowing the drive to be used in a wide range of complex applications. The EDW-100 is also a Modbus TCP gateway, supports Modbus RTU and Modbus ASCII in both master and slave modes.
